Triangle cards are great for math problems and spelling and phoneme exercises. You can use your triangle flash cards to strengthen important math skills such as knowledge of number tables, fact families, and operations. Create skill building cards with self-checking capabilities so that kids can use them on their own. In order to make your own self-checking flash cards, each card should contain three numbers on each side, one in every corner, and three operations. For example, if you use the numbers five, three and two, you can create an addition problem, three plus two equals five, and two subtraction problems, five minus two equals three and five minus three equals two. In this example, you should have the five in the top corner and the two and three in the two lower corners with the correct operation symbol in between each set. Children then cover one corner of their triangle flash cards and work out the shown problem. Reveal the hidden number to check your own answer. As a teacher or parent, you can also work together with your kids to help them master mathematical equations. Cover one number on the triangle cards, and test their knowledge or retention.
